WHO? WHAT? WHY?

Shae Margaret Stromme . photographer . For years I have been the "family photographer". I remember taking a trip with my grandparents and always having my pink 110 in hand. I still have a number of those very images. Although I'm not sure where my interest in photography came from, perhaps it was from my Aunt Bonnie who was taking her first college photography class while I was being born. I ended up having the same professor for my first college photography class. Coincidence? There are so many little tid bits that make up the whole.

It's intriguing how so many people can interpret a single image in so many ways. I love the way an image can captivate you, pull you in and take you to another place. How one can stand for hours gazing at the same image and never tire. The photographer's ability to capture a split second of time and share it with so many whom otherwise would not have had to chance to see it. The way photos can seemingly transcend time. The way an image can evoke emotions, feelings, and even physical reactions beyond control. Simplicity. The simplicity of light creating shadows and images - images to last a lifetime and more.

I do this because I love it and hope to share what I see with others. I want to give them something to cherish for years to come which is why the focus of my portrait work is children's candids and pregnancy portraits, though I have done everything from fashion shoots to stills, weddings, fine art and more. I don't delegate or send out. It's important to me that, whether it's good or bad, a name isn't made for me but by me. I'm very proud of my work and take it to heart. It comes from me...
